A Smart Alternative to FTP

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the method conventionally used for file transfer. However, FTP uses TCP rather than UDP as transport protocol, meaning that all packets must be verified and the resulting file transfer is significantly slower. FTP restarts when there is a brief network outage needing manual attendance for overnight transfers. Mosaic, alternatively, checks the integrity of the file on arrival and resends any missing or incorrect packets, making it a significantly quicker, more efficient solution.
